Vim 7 Released!
Vim lovers everywhere in the world must be pleased. Slashdot has this article about the release of a new version of Vi Improved (Vim). I am a big fan of Vi and have been using it since I learned how to use Linux in 1998. After months of development, a new version is finally out. The developers seem make it a point to release a minor release every month.
Now what does this new version of Vim have to offer? New features included spell checking in up to 50 languages, intelligent completion, tab pages, extended undo branches and much more. However, the YahooGroup site is offline so I can get a more complete list. Well, as far as I am concerned, I will only probably benefit from spell checking. Maybe somebody should add a decent grammar checker too.

I guess I would have to be used to the modes in vi before I would enjoy using it.
Or maybe I have really been brainwashed by the Emacs way? Hehehehe

Maybe so. But, vi is a really nice least common denominator when it comes to text editors. I also like “bang at the escape key when in doubt”.
