Driving New Phone Adaption by Surcharging Old Phone Users

Cingular Wireless, one of the largest mobile phone carriers in the US, is introducing a surcharge to users of old phones.
Nearly five million Cingular Wireless subscribers with older phones will have to pay USD 5 extra each month starting in September. Cingular tries to drive them to get new GSM handsets.
