Good-bye Pusit.com: Hello Friendster Philippines?

I posted a few pictures of the closed office of pusit.com and asked the question “Where did pusit.com go?” Looks like some of the answers are falling into place. Here are little bits of information I have obtained from multiple unverified sources.

  1. Friendster has been outsourcing work to EGG. Most likely for their mobile stuff since EGG is a CP.
  2. Terence Pua and his gang are now working on Eskwela.com and not with Friendster/Pusit anymore.
  3. Friendster was planning to setup a BPO shop in the Philippines. At some point in the past, I believe this was raised.
  4. The old Pusit.com was absorbed by mother Friendster. No more separate Pusit.com (hence the office closing).

So, we can only speculate. But, it seems Friendster has severed their relationship with old crew and will either push more outsourced work to EGG or setup a BPO of their own. Need to hunt for more information.

[…] There’s no official word from Terence Pua though. William Yu has more juicy information from several unverified sources here. […]

Interestingly, Abe was able to confirm from an ex-Pusit.com developer that Terence and Co did not renew with Friendster USA to work on other projects such as eskwela.com and xackup.com under company called PiKitchen.

An additional tidbit is that some resources were retained by Friendster USA. Of course, this includes the pusit.com domain, the applications developed by the Pusit and some of the Pusit team.
