Palawan Misadventures 1: 2 Conventions, 1 Airport, No Baggage Conveyor

Just a few hours ago, I was able to escape from the hustle and bustle of Metro Manila and arrive in the nice and sunny city of Puerto Princessa in Palawan. Unfortunately, the moment was spoiled when I realized that they did not have a working baggage conveyor!

Today, over 150 participants to the annual Actuarial Society of the Philippines convention will be trooping to this city in that particular Philippine Airlines flight. To matters even worst, another large delegation (over 50 people) from Sta. Lucia Realty (and their basketball team) arrived in a Cebu Pacific flight a few minutes after us. So over 200 people (with over 400 pieces of baggage) in one small strip of airport taxiway with no baggage conveyor. Chaos! Here are some pictures to share the moment will all of you.

Good thing there were “Excellent Workers” around to help. It would have been nice if the airport folk rushed the repair of the conveyor knowing that 2 big groups are arriving at the same time. It is nearly time for lunch here. Have a nice day!
