Looks like the world is beginning to take mobile instant messaging seriously. In the last few weeks, there have been a good number of big tickets events.

• Neustar Acquires Followap. One of the biggest players in the Mobile Instant Messaging world gets acquired by one of the world’s largest provider of mobile clearing house and number portability services.
• OZ gets $34M in funding. Another large Mobile Instant Messaging players gets second round funding worth $34 million led by Canadian institutional fund manager, Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec.

Looks like mobile instant messaging is here to stay.
