CS 197 Student Project’s for SY 2006-2007
Congratulations to all CS 197 students who have completed their capstone projects for this school year. I am particularly pleased by the performance of my advisees this school year. I believe this is the year in which most of the projects where completed either on-time or ahead of time.
- Prototype Web Services and Instant Messaging Integration by J. Liwanag, J. Ong. This research involves the development of a Web-IM interface engine that allows different web services to be easily integrated into an instant messaging system. This project was presented at the 27th Annual PAASE Meeting and Symposium.

- J2ME SyncML Synchronization Tool by D. Gonzales, R. Ribaya. This is a J2ME-based phone client that allows the synchronization of contacts and notes using the SyncML protocol over bluetooth.
- Porting the Compiere Oracle Database to MySQL by L. Ganzon, G. Perol. This is a project that partially converted a significant portion of the Compiere Oracle database to MySQL.
- IRC Log Dialog Extractor by M. Sarmenta, A. Yao. This is a tool that groups relevant dialogs in an IRC log file.
Congratulations to the team and good work! I believe you should be finishing your finals this week. It will soon be time to start your careers. Good luck!
