Congratulations to PAASE Presentors!

I would like to congratulate four (4) of my students for their participation in the last Philippine American Academy of Science and Engineering (PAASE) Annual PAASE Meeting and Symposium (APAMS) held last February 15 to 17 at Century Park Hotel in Manila. This is definitely a good move for all young researchers.

  • Cha Gascon and Clifford Lim had a poster about their work entitled Using the Border Gateway Protocol as Routing Data for Global Load Balancing. This research is intended to be applied to content delivery networks (CDNs) such as the ones used by global leaders Akamai and Digital Island.
  • Jan Vincent Liwanag, Jan Margaret Ong had a presentation about their work entitled Prototype IM Services Engine. This research when integrated into a production system will allow instant messaging systems to access a wealth of web content via web services. This system can further be extended to mobile networks since IM is already being introduced.

I just hope that we have more researchers willing to do more research and share their work to the academic community. We need more students like Cha, Clifford, JV and Marge. I wish somebody would like to continue their great work. Congratulations!
