Google does TV Ads

Google seems to be trying really hard to replicate their extremely successfully web advertising model into other media such as radio and print. Here is the latest in Google’s attempts to spread their gospel of search. Here is a scoop from Techcrunch on the Big G testing TV advertisements in California.

Google is conducting a small scale test of television advertisements in the Northern California town of Concord (east of San Francsicso), and there are additional rumors that Google is close to signing a deal with Dish Network, a satellite television provider, to supply advertising to its television subscribers.

The article also notes that the total size of the television advertising market in the U.S. is $54 billion annually, which is much larger than Google’s current $20 billion/year playground, online advertising.

Looks like they are getting serious about TV advertising. Their print and radio endeavors show preliminary success. Google seems to be a lot better at delivering advertisements OR they just have the Midas Touch. It should be reasonable for the Big G to then move into another area of media advertising which is TV.
